André "drop" Abreu has won his first event outside Brazil.
IEM Fall North America has concluded, with FURIA winning the grand final over GODSENT 3-0 while Liquid defeated paiN 2-1 to win the third place decider.
As a result of paiN placing fourth overall, they end up with fewer Regional Major Ranking (RMR) points than Evil Geniuses and will take the North American Challenger spot, while the Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz-led side will come into the Major as Legends.
FURIA will play their first Major top 16
The first map of the grand final started off quite poorly for GODSENT, who only managed to win four rounds on the Counter-Terrorist side of Mirage. They had a similar result in the second half, which saw Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato tear apart GODSENT, cutting their hopes short and pushing FURIA to a 16-6 victory and one map up in the best-of-five.
GODSENT were much more prepared on Inferno, having a very successful T side themselves, thanks in part to some impressive fragging from João "felps" Vasconcellos. Things were looking quite good for the GODSENT side on map two as they hit a lead of 12-6, but FURIA didn't give up. Andrei "arT" Piovezan's men grinded out seven rounds in a row to take the lead at 13-12, and then managed to finish the job and take Inferno 16-14.
After having suffered such a close defeat, GODSENT seemed mentally defeated going into Nuke. Despite stringing a couple of rounds together here and there, Epitacio "TACO" de Melo and company couldn't withstand the onslaught from Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo and Yuri "yuurih" Santos, and ultimately fell 8-16, losing the series 0-3.

The third place decider ended up being the more important match, ultimately, as it decided which team between Evil Geniuses and paiN would secure the third NA Legends spot at Stockholm.
The series kicked off on Overpass, and did not start well for the Brazilian side. After going down 1-9, paiN finally started to string some rounds together going into the second half, and were able to secure a score line of 9-11. However, the defense of Keith "NAF" Markovic and Liquid was too strong, and the American team took map one 16-9.
This loss didn't phase paiN however, and Rafael "saffee" Costa led his team to an even larger 11-1 lead on the Terrorist side of Nuke. Such a large lead ended up being insurmountable for the Liquid side, as despite a couple rounds strung together late in the game, they fell in map two 7-16, forcing the decider of Vertigo.
In a seemingly never ending battle of early game leads, Liquid struck back with their own massive 12-2 lead from the CT side of Vertigo. The one to help the North American team close out the series was none other than Michael "Grim" Wince, who had a rating of 1.92, helping Liquid secure a 16-4 win on the final map.
